Aweness Psychology | Anxiety Therapy NYC | Dr. Joyce Yung

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

Professional Fee

Fees are set prior to starting treatment and charged before each session. Reduced fee is available on a limited basis due to change in financial circumstances. All major credit cards and PayPal are accepted. Therapy sessions occur on a weekly basis. Higher frequency of sessions is determined collaboratively with the client based on particular circumstances they are going through.

Insurance

We are an out-of-network insurance provider. Reasons for opting out of insurance are the limits of privacy, confidentiality, flexibility, and level of accommodations that can be provided as an in-network provider.

Specifically, an in-network provider essentially becomes an insurance company employee, so to speak, where some client personal information may be required to be shared. Furthermore, the insurance company likely pre-sets the number of sessions based on specific conditions while the treatment plan may have oversight, thus rendering the client less privacy and personal control over their own treatment.

As an out-of-network insurance provider for my clients, most of their insurances have provided partial or full coverage for their psychological treatment. Additionally, psychotherapy is an allowable expense for your Health Spending Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Clients are typically reimbused when they submit a claim to their insurance provider or HSA/ FSA for out-of-network coverage. About 60-90% of the treatment fees are reimbursed depending on your insurance company. Please check with your insurance company for a detailed reflection of the benefits applicable to your plan. We will provide a monthly itemized bill for you to submit to your insurance company.
